The Making of Mermaid Ranch
In the 1950s, an American jazz singer and her Italian artist lover had a torrid affair, causing a scandal on both sides of the Atlantic. They escaped to Mermaid Bay, where they built a private creative enclave, a place to entertain their artist, filmmaker, and musician friends. Today, Mermaid Ranch is our creative retreat, too. Inspired by their story and the iconic work of Gio Ponti, our design director created custom upholstery, furnishings, and other design elements for the space, capturing Chandelier's spirit of passionate exploration and exuberant wit.
Everything from teepees to textiles were custom-designed in-house.
